Enthusiastic Enkianthus

Great woodland gardens always have twinkling color amidst the greenery.  This rhododendron relative provides understated drama above groundcovers.  Planting it with Dicentra [Bleeding Heart], Solomon's Seal, and Epimedium is a great way to highlight Enkianthus's small stature.

The bell shaped flowers deserve close inspection.  Like mini lamp shades, they radiate energy in shady spots.

Visit Wildwood Nursery to see them among the maples and dogwoods.
