Raised Beds

Most raised beds are reserved for vegetables.  Sometimes, beds are practical for other plantings.

In Mill Valley, where the hills are steep, the deer are gluttons, and the soil is clay, the smart option is tough plants.

Wildwood's combination of flax, black mondo grass, heuchera, dwarf red hot pokers, iris, agave, and other succulents look right at home in their rocky confines.

A mini mesh fence is enough to deter the deer when the plants aren't being photographed!
